Frequently Asked Questions
To achieve maximum vase life for your cut flowers, follow these best practices:
Cleanliness is key: Ensure that your vase is clean. If you aren't willing to drink from your vase, neither are your flowers. Use fresh room-temperature water and use the flower food that we include with all of our bouquets.
It's all about the water: Change vase water at least every 2-3 days. When you change the vase water, cut the bottom inch or so off of your flower stems using clean, sharp scissors or snips.
Placement matters: Keep your flowers out of direct sunlight, away from heating/cooling vents and drafts. Don't leave your blooms in a hot car or in the elements. Keep them away from fruits and vegetables, which produce ethylene gas that can cause premature aging of your flowers.
Feed your blooms: Use the floral food packet that we include with all sales to ensure that your flowers are fed.
Remove spent blooms: Some flowers last longer than others, this is normal. Remove wilted blooms from the bouquet daily. Our blooms are not treated with pesticides and can be composted.
Despite our best efforts, sometimes flowers don't last as long as we hope. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns so we can troubleshoot together.
